August Chicken of the Month

A Cochin Buff. Very nice head and shoulders shot. Pity you can't see his feet, they're all fluffy and feathery.

Funny Happenings in the Bathroom

Scenario #1:
Katelynn got on our bathroom scales and her Mammy said "How much do you weigh, Katelynn?" "Two-one-five", she replied. Ooh I hope not, she's only three!

Scenario #2:
Katelynn has been getting into trouble recently for spitting and has been having some "lessons in being a good girl" from her Daddy. When Grandad was brushing his teeth at the bathroom sink, Katelynn piped up "Don't spit Grandad!" Can you brush your teeth without spitting?

Life

You might be wondering why I haven't posted anything recently. Well, that's because "All work and no play make Janet a very boring girl" If I'm not at work, working, I'm at home, working...school work that is. It's all time consuming, but so far the grades are good!

Crazy Horses Katelynn

I just had to post this video of Katelynn dancing to Crazy Horses. It's pretty dark but you can just make out how she gets down to it. At the end she got REALLY excited. If you listen closely right at the end, you'll hear her say "Yeah!" She loved it!

Raising Another Fan

Grandma: Do you want to watch Beauty and The Beast?
Katelynn: No
Grandma: Do you want to watch Winnie The Pooh?
Katelynn: No
Grandma: Do you want to watch Donny?
Katelynn: YES!!!!

Grandma inserts Donny Live at Edinburgh Castle DVD. Donny appears on screen.

Katelynn: It's Donny! MY Donny!!!

Aaaah, another generation Donny fan.
PS. The first word she heard as a newborn was Donny. It obviously had an effect.

July 4th Pics

Here's Katelynn and Christopher in their July 4th outfits. All I can say is, thank goodness I'm not a children's photographer, it must be the hardest job on earth!!!!

Follow Up

Wouldn't you know? My login for school hasn't been registered and there's no one there today to do it for me. Another waste of a day. Tomorrow I'm getting my hair done so that's the whole morning gone too. Hope I'll be able to fix the login problem tomorrow afternoon.

My Day

One of my faults is that I have tendency to see things through rose colored spectacles. I expect a lot from myself and others, especially my family members and so when things don't go according to my plan, they don't usually see it, but I'm the one who ends up being frustrated and disappointed.
Today was one of those days. Not only was it Independence Day, but it was my wedding anniversary too, so traditionally in the past we've always gathered as a family. What went wrong today is beyond me. The boys who live at home went out, the one who doesn't didn't even call, the bbq was really rather lame, Katelynn was so hyper today she pretty much screamed throughout the whole day and then to top it off I never got to see the fireworks as Brent had to pick up my son in law from work at pretty much the time they were due to be on. The photos I had planned to take with my 3 grandchildren wearing their stars and stripes outfits never materialized and now it's past July 4th and they're still hanging brand new in my closet.
I did a couple of useful things today but for the whole I just felt sad and disappointed. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. I'm supposed to start school tomorrow so I hope my login will work so that I have something more constructive to do other than playing Bejeweled.

Katelynn's Birthday

Today was Katelynn's 3rd birthday. Here's a collage of her opening her presents and with some of the toys she got. She had pretty much just rolled out of bed, so she still has her pj's on and has her hair all mussy. That's the best way to open presents, don't you think?

Here is Katelynn tenderly caring for her baby who she named (with a little help from Grandma), Chloe. What a coincidence, that has always been one of my most favorite names. :)
She even let Chloe try out her new bike.
Blowing out the candle on her cake. Happy Birthday!
Mother and daughter pose for the camera.
We can't forget little brother now, can we?
Here's little brother Christopher doing his latest trick! Now we'll have to watch out!

July Chicken of the Month

Here we go, a Cochin Frizzle Mottled. Very feathery!
