Finding lost relatives

A few years ago, I put our family tree on Ancestry.com and since then have had a steady string of e-mails from people who may or may not be related to someone on it. It's been fun to read their letters then look at the tree to see where we connect up and whether we are in fact related. I have found many very distant relatives, the closest though was last year when I found Deb who is my 2nd cousin 1 time removed as her great grandma was my grandad's sister. She had grown up about 7 miles away from me but we never knew each other, but thanks to the wonders of the internet, we connected, even though both of us had emmigrated, her to Australia and me to the United States.
On my husband's side too, we have connected with some 3rd cousins of his and we all were intrigued by some of the mysteries in that particular family line. This week we have connected yet again to some 3rd cousins of my husband, but what makes this particular connection exciting, is that they are Gwynn's, just like us, and one of them lives right here in Gilbert!!! How weird is that?
So a big warm Gwynn welcome to Cheryl, Denise and Jim!!! Hope to be able to meet up with you all some day.

Hi, Janet!

Another Gwynn relative catching up here. I am first cousin to Cheryl, Debbie and Jim. I grew up in Gilbert, with my father John Gwynn (youngest son of James Campbell Sr., and brother of Cheryl/Deb/Jim's dad). My maiden name was Michelle Renee Gwynn. I keep a website at http://www.subtlerevealings.net

I have two young kids and am researching our family history to pass down to them someday. Would love to be able to tap you as a resource when I run up against mysteries in my research...of which there are plenty so far, since my Grandpa Gwynn wasn't forthcoming with his family history (at least, not to my knowledge) and my dad isn't terribly interested.

It's so amazing to be able to start to piece together these far-flung family roots using the Internet. I love it. It's the greatest puzzle for me to work on.

Cheers!
Michelle (Gwynn) Crandall
