January started with Jordan getting married and ended with us buying a house! Actually, we put the offer in on the 2nd of February, but the search began in January. We wanted to live in Gilbert again, but ended up just over the border in Queen Creek and we love it! We got the house on March 15th and moved in a few days later. The neighborhood is lovely and it's so quiet. We have a small green belt behind our house so there aren't any houses directly behind us. Every morning we wake to the birds singing in the trees. Awesome! Hopefully I will get pictures as we decorate the house in the coming months.
Olivia and her family moved back here from New York the week before we moved so it was chaos upon chaos, but we were so pleased to see her back. We're still waiting for baby Joshua to arrive though. I'm not sure what his problem is, but he needs to come on out and meet us! They're all living with us at the moment and so we get to enjoy the grandchildren on a daily basis. Katelynn has settled well in school and Christopher keeps himself busy by helping whenever he can.
Brent and I took a quick diversion over to the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert a few weeks ago. I love that place. Here's the pictures!
We took the kids over to Desert Mountain park one weekend during spring break. It's right next to Katelynn's school but when we went there, she hadn't started yet. It was a lovely day...sunny with a breeze, and so not too hot. (The pics are a little blurry though...taken with my lousy phone camera.)
Easter Sunday the kids came to church with us. Their other grandparents, Bob and Jennie, were staying with us for the weekend and it was lovely to see the tears of joy on their faces when they saw them in their Sunday best. I know I'm biased, but they did look so handsome and pretty! BTW, Christopher has his Maricopa County Sheriff badge on. Can you see it?
Later that day, Daniel and his family came over and we had out traditional Easter Egg hunt. Each year, Heather and Danielle decorate the eggs and Daniel is responsible for hiding them. Unfortunately, Christopher had gone out with his Dad, Mama and Papa and so missed it all, but the girls had to do the hunt three times in all. They had a blast!
I can't wait to see how my garden improves for next Easter. We're in the process of levelling the lawn and hopefully by next year we'll have shrubs and flowers in place.
Love this one.Can you see the egg in the tree?
Danielle's egg basket!
Katelynn's egg basket!
Cousins!!!
Danielle looks so pretty in this one, like a little princess!
And he liked sitting in our tree too!
Here he is doing exactly what his Uncle Jordan used to do...taking self portraits! I found these and lots more on my camera!
SCARY STUFF!!!
